Children & Adolescents Therapy
About Therapy
When a child is referred for therapy, they are often anxious and scared about the whole process. It is difficult for them to just talk about their issues. Often they don’t even understand why they are coming to therapy; let alone how to express their feelings. I like to use play or sand play therapy to help them identify and express their issues. If a child or adult is dealing with trauma, anxiety, or depression issues, I often incorporate EMDR into the therapy sessions.
If a child is struggling with attachment issues, I will use Theraplay®. This is a specific attachment based therapy that helps create a bond between the caregiver and the child through play. I welcome you to explore this site at your leisure to learn more about these effective treatment methods. If you have any questions please feel free to conact me.
